Lukan Avery – 7 months and cuter than ever!

Tyler is a friend of mine from high school and his wife, Ann, and I have become very close friends. I was thrilled when she asked if I would take some photos of their incredibly adorable son, Lukan. I was blessed enough to love on this little guy the day after he was born (also my birthday!) and to play auntie until they moved to be closer to Ann’s family. I miss them all terribly. I have been rather remiss in getting these photos edited and ready to share. Having a baby will do that. BUT, Ann has been gracious enough to not hate me for it. So here they are, the long-awaited shots from Lukan’s 7 month shoot! I hope I’ll have the chance to continue taking photos for them, even if they ARE in a land far, far away. Love y’all! Enjoy.

Audrey’s Day at the Park

As my ongoing project to expand my photographic horizons continued on, I was contacted by a great family looking to get some pictures of their 2yr old daughter that better captured her personality and how they see her rather than what comes of a quickie studio shoot. Perfect! Exactly what I’d been wanting to do. After a couple reschedules and crazy busy months, we finally were able to meet on a gorgeous day out at Hermann Park. So many wonderful options there for photos and plenty to keep a 2yr old happy. Plus, Audrey could hear the train the entire time, which was her reward for playing nice with the photographer. She did amazingly well and in about an hour we got some fun shots that I think better show a 2yr old in action and being herself than any studio sesh could. Enjoy and leave a bit o’ comment lovin’ if you are so inclined.

I don’t normally do the BW/color pop, but for once, I am enjoying how this one turned out!

Ronda + Jeff = Cause for a great maternity shoot

In the realm of expanding my portfolio and shooting opportunities I found a willing participant(s) to a maternity shoot. This is something VERY new for me since the vibe coming from engagements is much more romantically based, whereas maternity is a mix of excitement, capturing a baby bump at the right angles, a bit of romance, and a lot of experimentation! Ronda and Jeff decided to keep it personal and do the shoot at home. A great idea I recommend since not only is it convenient, but people are more comfortable in ‘their’ space and it shows in the photos. Also was great for Ronda so she could change and get in some bare belly shots, too! Ronda, thanks for inviting me into your beautiful home and trusting me with these precious memories. Enjoy and leave some lovin’ if you are so inclined!

Introducing Ainsley Ella – Newborn Model Extroidinaire

I have recently started to expand my portfolio to include family photography. Since my own family is budding I have a growing interest in photographing babies, toddlers, and families. I have been fortunate enough to find some willing participants to be my guinea pigs as I step into the uncharted territory of family portraiture.

On behalf of Josh, Lesley, and Jaden, I am pleased to introduce to you, Miss Ainsley Ella Marie, photographed here at just 10 days old. Ainsley was a perfect model, opening her eyes and really connecting with the camera. This little one has got eye contact down! I hope Ainsley is just the first of many newborn and baby shoots to come. I absolutely loved this shoot and I am stoked to start doing more! Lesley, thank you for letting me photograph your newest addition as I step into this new frontier. I enjoyed the shoot and chatting with you the whole time as well!

Julie & Wesley – Aggieland Wedding

Julie & Wesley got married at the lovely Christ United Methodist Church in College Station, Texas. Julie actually met Wesley at that church in choir (she’s an alto, he’s a tenor…that’s right, altos are the BEST!). The new sanctuary there is just beautiful with a wonderful stained glass feature and tons of natural light. Definitely a great wedding and I enjoyed sharing the experience with them up close and personal! They are an amazing couple that truly loves and cherishes each other.

DC Trip Days 3 & 4

Day 3 – I attempt, again, to visit the Constitution at the National Archives. Upon my arrival at 10am (opening time) the line was at least 2 hours long. No thanks, that document has lasted this long, I think I can come back another time when it ISN’T high tourist season, ugh. After that annoyance I decided to hit up my second home, George Washington University, to chill in the Marvin and cool off. Then it was off to my FIRST Potbelly’s. Yes, ladies and gents, to the Potbelly’s that started it all for me. It is located right by the EEOB (Einsenhower Executive Office Building) which is where much of the White House offices are located, including where my brother used to work back in the day.

Day 4 – I slept in, did some laundry, and just enjoyed resting up in a house that isn’t mine. Sorry, no pics, though I suppose I could have taken some of the house, but those are available on my brother’s blog if you’re that curious.

DC Trip Days 1 & 2

Most of you don’t know that I have a second life. Yes, it’s true. I have my Texas life and then I have my DC life. I say that because due to my brother living there since 2000, I’ve been enough times to establish favorite spots to eat, hang out, and shop, friends to hang out with, and even a church on Sundays. These things make up my DC life. I am lucky enough to be living that life for an entire week AND I get to share a few of those days with my dear friend, Aindrea. This is the first time I’ve had a TX friend enter my DC world and it’s an adjustment but I’m loving it! Here are some shots from the first two days…enjoy!

Julie’s Bridals

Now that Julie & Wesley are successfully hitched I can finally release her fabulous bridals to the world! We had a wonderful day in College Station at the George H. W. Bush Library and then on to historic downtown Bryan for some fun last minute shots. We even found time for some old fashioned ice cream sodas.

Mallory & Josh’s Engagements

Mallory was my very first fishy in band (yes, I was a band nerd and no, I did not play flute thankyouverymuch) when I was a sophomore. I have had the privilege of watching Mallory and Josh grow up and grow together since they started dating back in high school. It was a total blessing to be able to do their engagements and I think we had a pretty okay time! Mallory had some great spots picked out near Hermann Park that made for a wonderfully romantic and casual shoot. We ended the warm December afternoon at Amy’s Ice Cream, so what’s not to like?! Hope you enjoy and leave some lovin’ if you are so inclined.
